Town of Davidson Events

October 8 (Saturday) – Octoberfest – 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., Ben & Jerry’s parking lot (Main Street) – The Davidson Police Department Community Policing invites the public to celebrate Octoberfest. Please join us as we welcome the Fall Season! Bring a blanket, comfy chairs, a picnic dinner and plenty of friends! Food will be available for purchase and the event will feature music from the Summit All-Stars. Parking will be available on Jackson Street. October 22 (Saturday) – Downtown Davidson Sidewalk Sale – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Main Street – Davidson is known as a walkable town and one way residents and visitors can enjoy it is by walking Main Street during the Fall Sidewalk Sale. Nine stores will have specially selected merchandise for early holiday shopping. Participating stores include: The Village Store (gifts and decorative accessories), Main Street Books (greeting cards, gifts, t-shirts, and sweatshirts), The Needlecraft Center (needlepoint, canvases, imported and domestic knitting yarns), Whistling Swan (antiques, reproductions, folk art), Fiore (flowers and more), Wooden Stone (functional art), Icehouse Center (pottery, wood, glass), Honey Pot (beads), and Village Tack Shop (horse equipment and supplies). October 29 (Saturday) – Spooktacular – 6 to 9 p.m., North Mecklenburg Park – This annual Halloween event features a free costume contest. Stage entertainment includes a ventriloquist and magic show. Activities include carnival games, prizes, hay rides, storytellers, an outdoor movie, face painting and more. Call Angie Blashaw at 704.892.3349 for more information.

October 31 (Monday) – Annual Halloween March – 5:00 p.m., Town Hall – Costumed characters of all ages are invited to march down Main Street and receive treats from Davidson merchants. All ghosts and goblins should line up in front of Town Hall at 5:00 p.m.
