Town of Davidson Events

May 7 (Saturday) – Davidson Town Day – 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Village Green – Festivities will fill the Town Green and Main Street with games, food, arts and entertainment for the whole family. (There is also a Town Day book sale and silent auction at the Davidson Public Library from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

May 14 (Saturday) – Concert on the Green for Project Tsunami Relief – 2-4 p.m., Village Green – As part of its endeavor to aid the tsunami relief efforts, Summit Coffee will sponsor a concert by Michael Orlando and the Carter Brothers. The concert is free, but Project Shelter hopes to raise $500 in donations. To date, the Town has raised more than $10,000, the equivalent of 60 tents. For information, please contact 704.892.7591.

May 15 (Sunday) – Chamber Music Concert – 3-5 p.m., St. Alban’s Episcopal Church – This free concert is a collaboration with Chamber Music at St. Peter’s and St. Alban’s Church. Chamber Music at St. Peter’s is a self-supporting, non-profit organization with the mission of creating joy for both music lovers and music makers.

May 21 (Saturday) – Community Rummage Sale –8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Village Green. – Out with the old, in with the new! If you have unwanted items that you would like to get rid of, here is your opportunity. This event is free and open to the public, but there is a $25 fee if you would like to register for a booth. This can be done on-line, in person, or by phone.

May 22 (Sunday) – Concert on the Green, Kent Dowell & Friends, sponsored by the Davidson Village Inn – 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Village Green – The five-piece bluegrass band, returning after a two-year absence from Concerts on the Green, has appeared at Christmas in Davidson. There is no charge to attend the concert and listeners are invited to bring lawn chairs and a picnic. This year’s series sponsor is the McIntosh Law Firm. May 25 (Wednesday) – National Senior Health and Fitness Day – 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Village Green – This event celebrates the vitality of older Americans and encourages all active adults (50 and up) to do something that maintains or improves their health.
