Davidson Farmer's Market: Winter Hours in Effect

The Davidson Farmer’s Market will now meet year-round with reduced days in fall and winter. In January through April, the market will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays at reduced hours (9 am – 12 noon).

This producer-only market features more than 30 local producers selling a wide variety of locally grown vegetables and fruits, meats, eggs, honey, dairy and fresh flowers as well as baked goods, soaps and farmer-made crafts. For more information, visit www.davidsonfarmersmarket.org

Davidson Senior Scholars Programs

Second and fourth Wednesdays (1:00 – 2:30 p.m.), Davidson Parks & Recreation office (Room A, 416 Armour Street) – The general meeting format consists of lecture followed by question and answer. Programs are free! Programs include lectures on a variety of topics from healthy lifestyles to stories of international intrigue and espionage. March 9 (Wednesday) – Steve Abels, Marketing Director of Integrated Financial Strategies – For the second session of this three part series on financial planning, Steve will be discussing alternatives to 2011 tax changes.

March 23 (Wednesday) – Don Rosenberg, owner of Instant Organic Garden – Don returns for another session on organic gardening. He will discuss how to have a garden that needs no digging, tilling or weeding.

50+ Coffee Club

Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. until noon – Parks & Recreation Office (Armour Street) - Join in the fun as folks gather for social interaction, games, activities, and just good old conversation. If you are new to the Davidson area, this is a great opportunity to make new friends and meet people. Coffee, fruit and snacks are provided. No registration is required.
