March 11 (Friday) – April 20 (Wednesday) – “Herb Jackson: Excavations” – William H. Van Every Gallery, Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Arts Center – This exhibition celebrates fifty years of painting, forty-two of which have been spent in service to Davidson College and the greater arts community. A full color exhibition catalogue will be available for a special price during the opening reception on March 10 (7 – 9 p.m.).

March 1 - March 312011 Senior Studio Art Majors Exhibitions – Smith Gallery, Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Arts Center – Every spring, senior Studio Arts Majors hold solo-exhibitions for one week each. Many of these pieces are for sale to the public. Enjoy great and impressive art.

The Van Every/Smith Galleries are open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Programs are free and open to the public. For information, call 704.894.2519.

March 9 (Wednesday) – 2010-2011 C. Shaw and Nancy K. Smith Artist Series, “Celebrity Autobiography” – The cast for this performance features many notable comedians who will act out live on stage the memoirs of super stars. By reading the personal stories of “America’s Royalty” without changing a word, the audiences can hear the unfiltered voices of the celebrities we all know and love. “Celebrity Autobiography” will be a great night of huge laughs for all.
