Christmas in Davidson

December 1, 2, and 3 (Thursday - Friday – Saturday)Christmas in Davidson – If you are not a long-time resident of Davidson, or if you are new to the neighborhood, you may not have experienced a very special event in our community – Christmas in Davidson. First held in 1988, Christmas in Davidson signals the beginning of the holiday season and has become a tradition for local families and visitors alike. Three evenings of shopping, entertainment, refreshments and special events are sure to please even Scrooge.

The activities extend all along Main Street from south of Griffith Street (at the WDAV studio) to the arts district on South Main. Those not wanting to walk the distance can take a free trolley ride. Carriage rides run from Town Hall all three nights.

The 18th annual festival starts December 1 (Thursday) at 6:00 p.m. on the Village Green with opening ceremonies and the arrival of Santa Claus. The fun continues on December 2 (Friday) from 6 to 9 p.m. and December 3 (Saturday) from 3 to 9 p.m.

Santa will be in the Community Room of the Davidson Public Library from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, and 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. CVS Pharmacy will donate film and a photographer to film children visiting Santa in the library. Photos are free and can be picked up at CVS at noon the next day.
Mrs. Claus will be at the Opening Ceremonies as well as Knox Realty at 103 North Main Street each evening.

Here is a partial list of the events:
