April 5 (Tuesday) – Recreation Advisory Board Meeting – 7:00 p.m., Davidson Parks and Recreation Department Offices (452 S. Main St., Suite 105).

April 12 (Tuesday) -- Town Board Meeting – 7:00 p.m., Town Hall Board Room.

April 16 (Saturday) – N.C. Soldier Living History Encampment – 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Beaver Dam. This event will feature live period music and an artifact display. You can see how metal was formed to make tools, witness exercise troop formation and bayonet drills. Visit the Blacksmith, Chaplain, Commissary, and Military Surgeon. For all ages and free to the public.

April 19 (Tuesday) – Greenway Advisory Board -- 7:00 p.m., Town Hall Board Room.

April 23 (Saturday) – Earth Day-vidson 2005 –10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Village Green. -- Davidson College, the Davidson Lands Conservancy, and the Town of Davidson invites the public to join together to celebrate Earth Day. Environmental education displays, food, and music will create a festive atmosphere for celebrating the town’s recent smart growth award from the Environmental Protection Agency. Kris Krider, the town’s planning director, will be speaking about smart growth and members of the Planning Department will be on hand to answer your questions.

April 24 (Sunday) – Concert on the Green – 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Village Green – Davidson’s Concert on the Green series for 2005 kicks off with a performance by the Davidson College Symphony Jazz Ensemble. There is no charge to attend the concert and listeners are invited to bring lawn chairs and a picnic. This year’s presenting sponsor is the McIntosh Law Firm. For new residents to Davidson and New Neighborhood, this concert series has become a special town event. It is great fun for the entire family, including the dog. Please plan to attend.
