Neighborhood Social Events

OktoberFest Is Back!

The neighborhood was fortunate this year to have willing volunteers to plan and celebrate OktoberFest after one year without this annual party in Faulkner Square. The date has been set for Sunday, October28 (6 – 9 pm). [Note: See newsletter article on page 5 for full details regarding this popular event.]

All Neighbors Welcome

Every Morning (7:00 a.m.) – The Board Walkers meet at the corner of Twain Avenue and the intersection of Mary Jane McConnell and Miriam G. Tuttle Byways to begin their 50 to 60 minute walk around the area. If you would like more information, please call Bonne McCoy at 704-987-1877.

SEEDS Community Garden

SEEDS Community Garden is located in our neighborhood along the gas pipeline to the east of St. Alban’s Church. This garden has grown in popularity and is expected to expand. If you are interested in being a part of this “growing” experience and want to add your name to the list, please contact Pat Mulholland, secretary, at pdmul@bellsouth.net.

No Neighborhood Candidate's Forum This Year

As there are no local races for the Town of Davidson in 2012, the annual Candidate’s Forum sponsored by the Association will not be held this year.  However, there is an opportunity to meet candidates for County Commission and state congressional seats. United Family Services and Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a forum on Thursday, October 11 (7 – 9 p.m.) at Davidson College.

Plans are not final and dates or times may change. For more information, please contact Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce or United Health Services.
