Davidson College Events

November – December 6Art Exhibition – “The Force of Nature” – The Van Every/Smith Galleries and the Halsey Institute of the College of Charleston are partnering with four other local art institutions to present this exhibit. This innovative and experimental exhibition features new work by ten artists from Japan. Davidson will host Yuri Shibata and Takasumi Abe. The two artists will meet the public at a reception and gallery talk October 12 from 7 – 9 p.m. The Van Every/Smith Galleries are open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Programs are free and the public is welcome. November 17 & 18 (Friday & Saturday) – Orchestra Performances – The Davidson College Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert on November 17, featuring works of both Russian and American composers. On November 18, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and Davidson College Symphony Orchestra will join for a second concert. General admission tickets for the joint concert are $15 ($5 for children). Both concerts will be held in Duke Family Performance Hall at 8 p.m. For information, please call 704.894.2848.
