Davidson College Events

October 13 through December 7 – Art Exhibitions – Davidson College invites the public to art exhibitions by the Indian sculptor, Balasubraniam, and animated film producer William Kentridge. Balasubraniam is a leading young artist living and working in Bangalore, whose works are primarily comprised of casts from his own body. Kentridge produces animated films that illustrate both the direct effects and residual aura of apartheid in his native South Africa. The exhibitions are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays and noon to 4:00 p.m. on weekends. For more information, please call 704.894.2519.

November 4 (Friday) – Artist Series –The Davidson College C. Shaw Smith Artist Series presents the Brian Brooks Moving Company. This small modern dance company is described as very down to earth, fun, and engaging with its audience. Brooks is known for his eccentricity and trademark “yearly color” which becomes the focus for everything the company does. This year’s color is Kelly Green. Tickets for individual shows are $20. The show begins at 8:00 p.m. in Duke Family Performance Hall. For reservations and information visit www.davidson.edu/tickets or call 704.894.2135.
