Neighborhood Social Events

All Neighbors Welcome

Every Morning (7:00 a.m.) – The Board Walkers meet at the corner of Twain Avenue and the intersection of Mary Jane McConnell and Miriam G. Tuttle Byways to begin their 50 to 60 minute walk around the area. If you would like more information, please call Bonne McCoy at 704-987-1877.

SEEDS Community Garden

SEEDS Community Garden is located in our neighborhood along the gas pipeline to the east of St. Alban’s Church. This garden has grown in popularity and is expected to expand. If you are interested in being a part of this “growing” experience and want to add your name to the list, please contact Pat Mulholland, secretary, at pdmul@bellsouth.net.

Neighborhood Dinner Group

The Dinner Group will not meet again until October. This group continues to be very popular and always takes a summer break from activities.

If you are not already on the notification e-mail list, please get in touch with Arvind Patil (phone: 704.892.9608; or e-mail: aspatil@bellsouth.net) to be added.

Looking for Something Fun and Different?

The neighborhood has a regular Mah Jongg game. It is a fun game and popular in many places. If interested in learning the game or becoming a regular player, please call your neighbor Joyce Feir (Wolfe Street) at 704.892.8985 (e-mail at feir50@mi-connection.com) or Barbara Perzel at 704.987.8654.

Women

New Da Daytimers Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month, but does not meet in the months of July and August. For more information about the Book Club, please call Lovenia Summerville, president, at 704.987.8574.

Men

July 12 (Thursday) & August 9 (Thursday) — The Men’s Group Breakfast will meet at the Cookhouse Restaurant (Shoppes on the Green complex, I-77 exit 28 in Cornelius) at 7:30 a.m. The men have their breakfast on the second Thursday of each month.
