Book Club

The New Da Daytimers Book Club met at the mountain home of Lovenia Summerville in West Jefferson, NC, on Friday, June 29. The club (now with 18 or 20 members) is shown here as they prepare to depart for their mountain journey. Pictured (l-r): Rita Simpson, Barbara Doster, Meth McElhannon, Helen Patil, Diane Gabriel, Mary Ann Macos, Sheila Allen, Paula Bell, Eleanor Boylston, and Marion Thomas. Kathy Cox (not pictured) is the organizer for the group and left early to help prepare lunch for this “scholarly crew” with Lovenia.

Neighborhood Dinner Out

This event has been a huge success in the past and we would like to continue the tradition. October and November are wonderful months to plan this meal and there are plenty of local restaurants that would love to host such a fine group! If there are one or two couples, or individuals, willing to volunteer for setting this up, please call Dave Smith at 704.987.1472 (e-mail at davidbsmith@bellsouth.net).
