Davidson College Events

October 15 (Friday) – December 8 (Wednesday) – “Artist Wafaa Bilal” – Van Every Gallery, Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Arts Center – This display is a multimedia exhibition featuring works by the Iraqi American contemporary artist Wafaa Bilal. On view will be recreations of recent performance-based installations in which Bilal uses his own body, both literally and virtually, to interrogate widely held assumptions of Middle Eastern culture and people.

The Van Every/Smith Galleries are open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Programs are free and the public is welcome. For information, call 704.894.2519.

December 5 (Sunday) – Christmas Vespers – Davidson College Presbyterian Church – The Davidson College Chorale, Brass Ensemble, and String Ensemble will participate in the annual Vespers service. The pre-service music begins at 6:45 p.m. and the service begins at 7:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend. For information, please call 704.894.2357.

October 19 (Tuesday) – Davidson College Basketball Lunch in Charlotte – Covenant Presbyterian Church (1000 East Morehead Street), 12 noon to 1:15 p.m. – The Davidson Athletic Foundation invites you to join them for an inside look at a new season of Davidson College basketball with coaches Bob McKillop and Michele Savage. Cost: $18 per person.
