Neighborhood Social Events

All Neighbors Welcome

Every Morning (7:00 a.m.) – The Board Walkers meet at the corner of Twain Avenue and the intersection of Mary Jane McConnell and Miriam G. Tuttle Byways to begin their 50 to 60 minute walk around the area. If you would like more information, please call Bonne McCoy at 704-987-1877.

Many Thanks for a Great Event!

The Candidates Forum on Thursday, October 22 was a big success. Special thanks go to Bill McCoy and Sherman Kahn of the neighborhood and to David Boraks of DavidsonNews.net for their efforts in making this happen. As always, we also want to thank St. Alban’s Episcopal Church for allowing us to host this event in their sanctuary.

Neighborhood Christmas Dinner

The Neighborhood Dinner Group will conveniently meet on December 15 (third Tuesday) at Toast Cafe (101 North Main Street, Davidson) for the annual Christmas dinner. The New Neighborhood group will have exclusive use of the restaurant on that evening. Owner Brian Burchill hosted the group two years ago before the restaurant officially opened and he promises the same special treatment this year! As usual, the cocktail hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. Arvind Patil will notify the e-mail list when plans are complete. If you are not already on the notification e-mail list or have questions about the group, please contact Arvind (phone: 704.892.9608, or e-mail: aspatil@bellsouth.net.).

We are hoping to have a large turn-out. Please make this a special part of your holiday season!

Become a “Friend of Music at St. Alban’s”

New Neighborhood has been fortunate to have this type of music program and the talent of Henry Lebedinsky right in the middle of our development! Many residents have enjoyed the multi-faceted concerts in the series each year. However, as we are all aware, the economy is rough and funding for such events is difficult. Ticket sales do not cover the costs associated with these professional presentations. This may, in fact, be a “Make-or-Break” season for the program. The church would appreciate donations from our neighborhood music-lovers. Donations can be dropped off at the church office anytime during the week or mailed to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church (with “Music at St. Alban’s” in the check memo field) at P.O. Box 970, Davidson, NC 28036.
