August 22 – 27 – Davidson College students return for the 2007-2008 academic year. Wednesday, August 22, is an optional check-in day for new students, with a full orientation from Thursday, August 23, through Sunday, August 26. The first day of classes for everyone is on Monday, August 27. Please allow a little extra time getting to and from town on these dates and drive carefully around the school. The “quiet” summer atmosphere will become busy with excited students (and bewildered parents).
2007-2008 Artist Series – Season tickets are now available for the C. Shaw and Nancy K. Smith Artist Series. The series begins in September and is sure to entertain audience members of all ages. This year's season will consist of five diverse and entertaining performances. All performances are held in the Duke Family Performance Hall beginning at 8:00 p.m. For ticket information, call 704.894.2135.

Fall sports have returned. Both Men’s and Women’s Soccer begin during late August. Both teams have two home exhibition games and the Men’s season begins with a home game on August 31. Men’s Football is back in full swing with the first season game at home with UNC Pembroke on September 1 (7:00 p.m.). Women’s Volleyball also begins in August. Don’t miss the action by the Wildcats!
