Davidson College Events

March 13 – April 15 “Chris Johanson: CONTINUALITY” – Van Every/Smith Galleries, Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Arts Center – Contemporary artist Chris Johanson emerged in the 1990s from San Francisco’s underground art scene that came to be known as the Mission School. Johanson’s work employs a playful, do-it-yourself approach that comments on some of life’s most profound mysteries and mundane details. For his exhibition, Johanson will create a site-specific installation with recycled and found materials. It will feature works created in collaboration with the artists and members of Art Works 945 from the Urban Ministry Center in Charlotte.

The Every/Smith Galleries are open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Programs are free and the public is welcome. For information, call 704.894.2519
