Town of Davidson Events

In the Know in Our Neighborhood

*   *   Davidson Traffic Changes   *   *

Long-time residents in Davidson (and perhaps, from “experience,” some of our new neighbors) know that the Town of Davidson strictly enforces its speed limits. Please be advised of the latest change: The speed limit on South Main Street in Davidson has been reduced from 35 mph to 25 mph. For more information, please contact the Davidson Police Department at 704.892.5131.

Also, be aware of the newest traffic calming symbols at designated pedestrian crossings in the town. Traffic is required to YIELD to pedestrians in these crosswalks. They are marked with a line of white triangles (in the shape of yield signs) on the road just before the designated crosswalk. The newest markings can be found on Concord Road, along Main Street, and on South Main Street at the Davidson United Methodist Church.

The first of two traffic control roundabouts on Griffith Street (near I-77) is under construction and expected to be complete by mid-April. These patterns are expected to better control and slow traffic flow (15 mph) along that street. A future roundabout is scheduled for the intersection of Grey Road and Concord Road. Roundabout information brochures are available at the Town website or at Town Hall.

Drive safely and watch for pedestrians!
Please respect the safety of our town and community
