Good Neighbor’s Service

If anyone in the neighborhood has difficulty getting to the post office, grocery store, dry cleaners, etc., during inclement weather or due to an illness or disability, there is a group of your neighbors who stand ready to make that trip for you. If you need assistance call anyone on the list found in the print version of the newsletter.

Non-Working Street Lights

Our neighbors, Dave Stout and Shannon McLean (O. Henry Avenue) have volunteered to identify non-working street lights during their evening walks and to notify Duke Power. If you notice a non-working street light, you can contact Duke Power directly or just notify Dave and Shannon at 704.895.9117.

Have Some Time To Help Others?

Why not volunteer for Hospice Lake Norman? Volunteering means just that. When someone calls you for an assignment, you can accept or regret, depending on your schedule. Call Lorna Bishop at 704.892.4753 for more information.

Want To Jump-Start Your Creative Talents?

The Icehouse Center for Creativity, Craft & Design (416 South Main Street) is a non-profit organization committed to providing creative opportunities for the people of the North Mecklenburg-Lake Norman region to enjoy and develop skills in a wide range of craft, design, and visual arts disciplines through professional instruction, cultural activities, and access to resources that foster creativity. From now through June, the Icehouse Center will conduct 4th Friday Art Talks, featuring local artists in interesting and informative panel discussions along with presentations of their work. The April 28 session is “A Series of Fortunate Events: Art and Process II.” These sessions are free and open to the public.
