August 28 – October 7 2009 Studio Art Faculty Exhibition: Herb Jackson, Cort Savage, and Rebekah Tolley – Van Every Gallery, Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Arts Center – This annual exhibition will feature etchings of the human form by Herb Jackson and bronze models of monumental public sculptures by Cort Savage. Rebekah Tolley will make her Davidson debut with an installation of prints and animated video projections on ceramic sculptures.

The Every/Smith Galleries are open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Programs are free and the public is welcome. For information, call 704.894.2519.

September 30 (Wednesday) – 2009-2010 C. Shaw and Nancy K. Smith Artist Series, “Punch Brothers ft. Chris Thile” – Formed in 2006, Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile are already playing to sold-out crowds around the world. Composed of five young and fiercely talented musicians, the band has captured the attention of music lovers across genres. “Why didn’t someone think of mixing bluegrass, jazz, and classical music together sooner?” San Francisco Chronicle. 2009-2010 Concert Series – Season tickets will soon be available for the Concert Series, featuring five exciting performances. The first concert is expected to be in November. Tickets may be purchased online, by calling 704.894.2135, in person at the Union Box Office (Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.), or at the door. Subscribe to the Concert Series early and receive tickets to all five shows for the price of four!
