The Last Page
At the Membership Meeting in August of 2004, I told Doug Boone that I would be glad to help him with the neighborhood newsletter. Six years ago (October, 2004), I delivered my first edition (with somewhat more than just a “helping” role). Who would have thought? . . .
About thirty years ago, a co-worker asked me if I would like to volunteer as District Chairman for the Rowan County Boy Scouts. This person said, “If you want to get out, there are always volunteers ready to take your place.” It took me nine years to find that volunteer. At that time, my wife said, “Did you learn anything from this volunteer stuff?”
Not having given an answer at the time, I probably can answer now . . . “I guess not much!”
Dare I ask? . . . Any volunteers for newsletter editor?
