Council of Stewards Meeting

September 26 , 2006 [Special Meeting]

In attendance: Sam Coleman, Tom Fischer, Teresa Furlong, Sherman Kahn, Norm Reid, Dave Smith, Dave Stout, and Donna Howell (Recording Secretary).

The special meeting was called to finalize plans for the neighborhood survey introduced at the regular August meeting and to establish a timeline for completion. Teresa Furlong (chairperson and COS representative of the Property Transition Committee) presented the proposed survey packet, including the survey form, an information sheet for interviewers, and a fact sheet with contact information that will be left with each home surveyed. Several additional suggestions were made. Completion of the survey is expected to be before October 25. [See details in newsletter article on pages 4 and 5.]

Other issues discussed included the following:

  • The Finance Committee will prepare a proposed 2007 budget for review by the Council of Stewards at the regular meeting on October 25.
  • Vera Victorino will be asked to arrange an annual performance review meeting with Dennis Abbott during the week of November 6.
  • A timeline for final approval of the Policy & Procedures/Enforcement Guidelines Document prepared by the Covenant Committee was discussed. Sam Coleman will prepare copies of the proposed changes to Association Canons of Conduct and present them for COS review at the October 25 meeting. If approved, changes will be sent to Association membership. Unless 50% of the total Class A members disapprove within 30 days, such changes will become effective.

Additional issues concerning individual home owners were covered in Executive Session.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

NOTE: The Council of Stewards meets regularly on the fourth Wednesday of every other month in St. Alban’s Church library (lower level) at 7:00 p.m. Special meetings are called as needed. Meetings are open to residents. The next regular COS meeting is scheduled on October 25, 2006.
