If anyone in the neighborhood has difficulty getting to the post office, grocery store, dry cleaners, etc., during inclement weather or due to an illness or disability, there is a group of your neighbors who stand ready to make that trip for you. To make space for articles and news, a hard copy of the list will only be printed in the newsletter every two or three months. Please call Dave Smith (704.987.1472) if you wish to be included.
An updated list is online if you're logged in to the members' area.

Adkins Pet Center (3920 East Hwy 27, Iron Station, NC) is a pet care facility dedicated to finding homes for dogs and cats. They are a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization. Due to difficult economic times, they are being forced to close. There are approximately 20 loving dogs/puppies and about 20 cats/kittens that need a home immediately (within 2 weeks) or they will be released to animal control. Due to the circumstances, all adoption fees will be waived. If you or someone you know has room in your home and hearts for one of these special pets, please contact Adkins Pet Center at 704.736.4215 (Jolene) or e-mail johandysides@adkinspetcenter.com.
If you have lost a pet or misplaced something that you may have left in a neighborhood park, please let me know and I will be glad to put it in the newsletter. Obviously, if an item is found, I will also be glad to make inquiry in the next newsletter.
