Davidson Farmer’s Market The Davidson Farmer’s Market, a producer-only market, is open every Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon in Downtown Davidson. With more than 30 local producers, the market features a wide variety of locally grown vegetables and fruits, meats, eggs, honey, dairy and fresh flowers, as well as baked goods and non-food items such as soaps and farmer-made crafts. Themed market days, guest chef cooking demonstrations, musical entertainment, and educational activities are planned throughout the season. Downtown Davidson, Inc. brings back this popular series for spring-summer 2009. The concerts are held on Sundays from 6 – 8 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Families and friends are welcome to bring picnics and relax to the music. Each concert features a picnic theme. July 4 (Saturday) – Village Green – There will be no celebration or fireworks display at McEver Field this year. Instead, the fun-filled evening will begin with a small town parade at 5:00 p.m. from Davidson Town Hall and end at the Village Green. Everyone is encouraged to come out and march in the parade dressed in their best Independence Day attire. Festivities include children’s activities and a Concert-on-the-Green by Rough Draft from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
