Town of Davidson Events

June 4 (Saturday) – Fishing Derby – 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Roosevelt Wilson Park (Griffith Street) – The Davidson Parks and Recreation Department is co-sponsoring this event with the McIntosh Law Firm and the Mooresville Wal-Mart. Kids (ages 5 to 15) are invited to test their fishing skills during this fun filled day. There is no fee. You may pre-register at the Wal-Mart store, the Davidson Parks & Recreation Office, or at the park on Derby Day. For information, call 704.892.7591.

June 7 (Tuesday) – Station Area Plan Charrette – 7:00 p.m., Davidson Town Hall – All members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend a public workshop June 7-9 at Davidson Town Hall to discuss and design future development along the proposed commuter rail line. The meeting will kick-off at 7:00 p.m. on June 7 and will continue all day on June 8 and June 9. Workshop results will be presented at 7:00 p.m. on June 9.

June 11 (Saturday) – “Love Your Pet” Second Annual Chip Clinic – 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., Village Green – The Town of Davidson and the Davidson Business Association will present a Microchip Clinic for pets, with a pet product show starting at 9:00 a.m. Cost for the identification chip insert and registration will be $25. At this time, pets may also get a rabies vaccination with certificate and rabies tag for $8.

June 12 (Sunday) – Concert on the Green, Son de Cuba sponsored by Knox Realty and The Village Store – 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Village Green – This is an authentic Cuban band based in Charlotte and is sure to be a hit. There is no charge to attend the concert and listeners are invited to bring lawn chairs and a picnic. This year’s series sponsor is the McIntosh Law Firm. June and JulyOutdoor Concerts – WDAV sponsors a number of upcoming, free area concerts. They include June 17 (The North Carolina Symphony Pops at Frank Liske Park in Concord); June 18 (The Charlotte Symphony Pops at Bailey Road Park in Cornelius); and July 4 (Fourth of July Spectacular at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont).
