The Last Page

A friend recently posted a YouTube video on her Facebook page. It was such a powerful message that I thought I would pass the item on to our neighbors. Unfortunately, the video would likely impact viewers more than my words, but here goes . . .

An old man is sitting in a public square begging for money. He has with him a tin cup and a sign that quite simply says, “I’m blind, please help!” Passersby generally are not providing much change in the man’s tin cup and pretend to ignore him. A young woman approaches and reads the sign, turns it over, and writes her own message. People walking by the old man suddenly start dropping a lot of change into his cup and he is amazed. The woman reappears and, by feeling her shoes, the old man realizes that it is the same woman that changed his plea. He asks, “Madam, what did you do to my sign?”

The young lady quite simply says, “I changed it to say ‘It’s a beautiful day and I can’t see it.’ ”

Change your words; change your world!
