Davidson College Events
June 7 – August 6 (except week of July 4th) – Day Camp at the Lake – Weekly day camp sessions are available for boys and girls grades 5-9. All activities (swimming, sailing, canoeing, water skiing, tubing, and games) take place at the college’s beautiful Lake Campus. Sessions are open and subject to availability. There is a $50 registration fee and cost per child is $300 per session (discount for families). July 22 – August 1 – Noises Off – Davidson Community Players – Called the funniest farce ever written, Noises Off follows the trials and tribulations of a malady-riddled theatre company in Great Britain. The wonderful convention is that the set revolves so that you see performances of the same play from both the audience’s point of view as well as the drama happening back stage. [Mature Themes: Ages 14 and up]
Performances are in the Duke Family Performance Hall at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22 – Saturday, July 24 and Thursday, July 29 – Saturday, July 31. There is a 2:00 p.m. matinee on both Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, August 1. Tickets are $22 for general admission ($20 for students and seniors). August 18 – 24 – Davidson College students return for the 2010-2011 academic year. Wednesday, August 18, is an optional check-in day for new students, with a full orientation from Thursday, August 19, through Sunday, August 22. The first day of classes for everyone is on Monday, August 23.

The Davidson College sports calendar is open until the late-summer and fall sessions begin. However, there are numerous opportunities for kids to participate in Athletic Summer Camps. These camps include baseball, men’s basketball, football, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, volleyball, and wrestling.
