Neighborhood Social Events

All Neighbors Welcome

Every Morning (7:00 a.m.) – The Board Walkers meet at the corner of Twain Avenue and the intersection of Mary Jane McConnell and Miriam G. Tuttle Byways to begin their 50 to 60 minute walk around the area. If you would like more information, please call Bonne McCoy at 704-987-1877.

Neighborhood Dinner Group – This event was a big success in 2007 with residents of New Neighborhood and will continue in 2008. There will be no dinner scheduled in January. The next dinner will be held on February 21st (Thursday) at Mia Famiglia (another great choice!) in Jetton Village in Cornelius. Please be sure to look for details in the February newsletter. If you have any suggestions regarding future dinner locations or questions about the event, please call Arvind Patil by phone at 704.892.9608 (e-mail at aspatil@bellsouth.net). The neighborhood would again like to thank Arvind for his efforts at organizing this event.

St. Alban’s Church Events – Neighborhood Welcome!

January 27 (Sunday, 3:00 p.m.) – 2007–2008 Concert Series, “Poultry in Motion: Music from the Appalachian Heritage” – Get ready for fun as this group presents a program of traditional Appalachian and old-time music, from its Scots-Irish roots to present-day influences. Led by Charlotte’s own Jon Singleton playing banjo and fiddle, Poultry in Motion includes Atlanta-based ballad singer Leila Lazenby, upright bassist Robbie Link, and special guests. This should prove to be a toe-tapping celebration of mountain music at its best.

Concerts are $15 (students and seniors: $10; children under 10: free) and can be purchased in advance at the church office (704.892.0173) or by calling the Concert Series line at 704.941.0650. Please visit www.saintalbans-davidson.org/ musicatstalbans.htm for more information.
